How do I get a Behaviour and Learning Support Session?

If you are not doing the High 5 you will find yourself in a Behaviour Learning Support Session. If you are marked out of uniform you will be placed on the lunchtime Behaviour and Learning Support Session list. Your LG teacher or Year Level Leader may also place you on a Behaviour and Learning Support Session if you have done the wrong thing. If you have unsubmitted learning tasks or performance tasks where you didn’t reach the competent level you may be placed in a Behaviour learning support session. If you are frequently late to class or are not bringing the required equipment you may be placed in a Behaviour learning support session.

How will I know if I have a Behaviour and Learning Support Session?

Midway through Period 3, the General Office staff will copy the Behaviour and Learning Support Session list into the Daily Notices on Sentral and email it out to all staff. Your Period 3 teacher will tell you if you have a Behaviour and Learning Support Session or you will be asked to look it up yourself on Sentral.

Behaviour and Learning Support Session lists are also displayed on the TVs around the college.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to be aware if you have a Behaviour and Learning Support Session and it is your responsibility to attend.

Who knows if I turn up to a Uniform Behaviour and Learning Support Session?

Behaviour and Learning Support Session teachers mark the roll on Sentral. Your attendance is recorded and is visible to you, your parents and staff via Sentral. Your LG teacher and Level Leader will receive a notification email if you do not attend. 

What happens if I don’t go to a Behaviour and Learning Support Session?

This is the standard follow up procedure for missed Behaviour and Learning Support Sessions.

  • Miss once: The Behaviour and Learning Support Session will be rescheduled the next day.
  • Miss twice: The Behaviour and Learning Support Session will be rescheduled the next day and you will get a misconduct. Your non-non attendance is now lowering your ARCC score. 
  • Miss a third time : Lunchtime Behaviour and Learning Support Session will turn into an after-school Behaviour and Learning Support Session and parents are contacted.
  • Miss a fourth third time: Pre-suspension conference.

If you have a Behaviour and Learning Support Session you earned it.

You have to attend.

It is not optional.

For Learning group teachers.

When a student does not attend B&LSS you will receive an automatic notification. It will say if this is the first or second time the student has not attended.

For second consecutive non attendance students should be give a Misconduct.
